All masks are lined, and designed using a pleated or accordion method. They have comfortable adjustable ear loops. Customers that have purchased our masks have raved about their versatile fit, great design, comfort, and general ease of wear. Don't worry - you'll come back for more.
The best place right now to view styles is to visit Instagram @jvinestudio.
Hand-dyed masks are unique and unequivocally beautiful! They are not available for purchase online because I usually take a few minutes to talk about the linen options available, and clients get the chance to customize their mask by choosing the exact fabric they love! Masks are selling for $15 each, and if you're in Canada I will ship free!
Kids Masks come in a variety of cute, yet stylish, cotton prints. You can also purchase hand-dyed linen masks in Child sizes. You can order 5 for $50, or $12 each.
The Social Justice Collection is something new that we've been working on! Proceeds from sales will support the Nia Centre for the Arts. They are a non-profit organization that delivers programs in all areas of the Arts, and will enhance the cultural fabric of the City of Toronto. They are going to be building the 1st professional multi-disciplinary African-Canadian Arts Centre in Canada, and our support counts!
Masks are designed by us and share the message of love and equality. They draw awareness and will spark positive dialogue. I believe it is increasingly important that the young generation talk, understand, and continue the conversation about issues that matter - they are our future, and will build on the language we give them to grow with.
Masks are available in Adult ($15) & Child ($12) sizes.
Julanna uses dye to manipulate colour flow, patterning, and colour blends in linen. She began experimenting with Shibori techniques, and quickly found that the ice dye technique created bold and beautiful colours and patterns. J Vine studio was born in this process, and ELTE Mkt picked up a line of these ice dyed pillows. This line of pillows grew each season, evolving into Pillows in ombré dye techniques, as well as traditional shibori techniques.
The journey into printed designs began when Julanna explored printmaking by embellishing fabric with textile paint - this experiment developed a new process in textile design for Julanna. She learned the process of fine tuning images and colours digitally, from photographs of her artwork. Imagery is created from her work with watercolours and pastels, gouache, watercolour pencils and brush markers, as well as glass painting. Designs, often with varying colourways, are printed on velvet, linen, and silk. The possibilities are endless for her, and clients, when they collaborate with the design process. Elte Mkt and Carrocel Interiors have worked with Julanna to accent their furnishings with her textile designs.
